GWYNDAF JONES: Welsh Tenor (Gwyndaf Jones) Welsh-born and trained tenor Gwyndaf Jones, who spent several years in Windsor during the late 1990s and now lives near Toronto, has fulfilled a dream of recording the music of his heritage with a shimmering, heartfelt new album. The 14 selections have personal significance to the 37-year-old, who was encouraged from an early age to follow in the rich tradition of Welsh tenors, with David Lloyd the most important. At least four of the CD's songs are associated with Lloyd -- Bless This House, Elen Fwyn, Bugail Aberdyfi, and Songs My Mother Taught Me. There are others, as well, famously covered by masters of the form like Trebor Edwards, Geraint Dodd and Teifryn Rees. Jones upholds the tradition with a voice that can thrill in the highest registers and break your heart with deep emotion. Mario Lanza and the bel canto style is also acknowledged with the likes of Be My Love, Because and the beautiful finale, Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life. His accompanist is the brilliant Windsor pianist, Alde Calongcagong. - Ted Shaw, Star Entertainment Writer, Windsor Star |

He has given his time and talents to raise money for those who live in silence. The Bob Rumball Foundation for the Deaf is privileged to have a friend like Gwyn, who is sensitive to the needs of the Deaf. He understands the programs and services we provide to our Deaf residents and clients to provide them with a higher quality of life and is so willing to help us make a difference. Gwyn we thank you for your continued support". - Suzanne Prosser, Director, Bob Rumball Foundation for the Deaf "It was a blessing in January 2010 for our First Event of the Open Doors Campaign to have Gywndaf Jones perform a benefit concert for us. It was a wonderful evening that our communitee is still talking about.
